Short answer
A first pain and posture assessment helps us understand your pain history, posture, movement, joint function, muscle control, lifestyle habits and goals before recommending care. It is designed to help you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and which care options may be suitable.
At One Spine Chiropractic & Physiotherapy Centre TTDI, patients do not need to decide whether they need chiropractic or physiotherapy before visiting. We assess first, then explain the options.
Step 1: Understanding your pain history
We start by asking about your symptoms, when they began, what makes them better or worse, previous injuries, work and exercise habits, sleep, daily routines and treatment you have tried before. This helps us understand whether the pain is new, recurring, activity-related, posture-related or possibly nerve-related.
Step 2: Posture and movement assessment
We may assess standing posture, sitting habits, spinal movement, shoulder or hip movement, functional movement and how your body controls common tasks such as bending, squatting, lifting or reaching. The goal is not to judge posture as good or bad, but to understand how your body is loading and moving.
Step 3: Joint, muscle and nerve screening
Depending on your symptoms, we may check joint movement, muscle control, strength, flexibility, tenderness, balance or neurological signs such as reflexes, sensation or nerve tension. This helps us decide whether chiropractic, physiotherapy, rehabilitation or referral is more appropriate.
Step 4: Explanation and care options
After the assessment, we explain what we found in plain language. Suitable care may include chiropractic, physiotherapy, rehabilitation exercises, posture correction, soft tissue therapy, dry needling, shockwave therapy, home exercise guidance or referral for medical review when needed.

When referral may be needed

Frequently asked questions
Will I get treatment on the first visit?
This depends on your assessment findings and whether care is suitable on the day. Safety and clarity come first.
Do I need to bring scans?
If you already have X-ray or MRI reports, bring them. If you do not, we can still assess whether imaging may be needed.
Do I choose chiropractic or physiotherapy?
No. We assess first and explain which approach may suit your condition and goals.
