There is minimal to no pain in a Chiropractic Manipulation. You may feel pops and cracks, but you should not feel any intense pain.  Some patients who are new to chiropractic treatment may involuntarily stiffen or resist the adjustment and feel a small amount of discomfort until they are able to relax during treatment.

Some might feel mild soreness or minor aches after a visit, this is due to the adjustment of vertebrae that moved slightly. Your muscles have to adapt to the movement of the bone, so they may end up lengthening or shortening slightly, which can lead to soreness which last for 24-48 hours. We encourage our patients to rest and apply moist heat to the sore muscles if needed.

The popping sounds is called joint cavitation which is caused by a change in joint tensions. The joint space opens minutely allowing a release of pressure (small pockets of air or bubbles, which are in the fluid movement that surrounds your joints)

Yes, children can benefit from Chiropractic Care. In fact, our youngest patient is merely 8 months old.  Children are physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living. Injuries may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. One of the main conditions we see most for children is scoliosis. Most of the idiopathic scoliosis occur between age 10 and the time a child is fully grown, we need to observe and prevent the worsening of scoliosis during a growth spurt. That is where we come in to play role taking care and preventing further curvature of their spines.

Yes, many pregnant mums receive chiropractic care too! Chiropractic adjustments help relieve back pain and other related musculoskeletal pain of pregnant women.  Our treatment method are always designed to adapt to our patients’ size, weight, age and condition of health to provide the suitable care.

In fact, chiropractic treatment during pregnancy is safe and gentle. It helps to relieve back pain during pregnancy and after delivery. It also relaxes the ligament around the pelvic region which makes natural birth easier.

Back Pain FAQ

Why Does My Lower Back Pain Keep Coming Back?

Lower back pain can return when the underlying cause has not been properly addressed. While massage, stretching, or pain relief may help temporarily, recurring pain may be linked to spinal stiffness, hip tightness, weak core control, poor posture, old injuries, or poor movement habits.

At One Spine Chiropractic & Physiotherapy Centre in TTDI, we assess your spine, pelvis, hips, posture, movement pattern, and pain triggers before recommending a care plan.
